Most coaches I speak to,
Say I am ran by a big “vision”.
They are making money,
Serving clients,
Making an impact,
But on the inside,
They feel as licked clean as a baggie at rave after party.
They are burnt out, torn between their business and life and feel totally empty and no more left to give.
While they say its their vision driving them,
An underlying emotion normally has control,
Guilt.
Which keeps them operating from a perception of “unfair value exchange”.
That no matter how much they give, it’s not enough and they have always received more.
It shows up in business, even if the guilt has nothing to do with the business.
Let me share.
I had a client,
She ran a successful coaching business.
And she would:
Feel completely responsible for clients results.
Spend way to much time with clients.
Consistently respond to them at all hours of the day and night.
Overthinking her business and delivery.
Neglected her own needs.
Her business itself was a reflection of her vision,
Who she was helping,
How she was helping,
And the results that her clients were getting,
But she was destroying her self doing it,
Because guilt was dictating how she kept showing up.
“It was never enough”
And so during one of our sessions we decided to explore her biggest guilt,
I won’t go into detail,
But it had to do with a sexual experience from 13 years before,
No connection to her business,
We spent 45 minutes and broke through her guilt,
And her business, her intimate relationship and her finances all transformed within the next week.
She was true to her boundaries with clients,
She knew the value of what she was offering,
She knew she was responsible for her clients, but not responsible for their results.
She had certainty on the way she was delivering,
She increased her prices and grew her client base.
All predictable outcomes of resolving guilt and increasing your self-worth,
But unpredictable that this specific guilt,
Would be the root cause of these challenges.
Having a vision is important,
But equally important is making sure you’re not operating in your day to day from guilt.
And if you want to make sure that you aren’t
