I was having a conversation this week with a close friend of mine.
We were chatting about content creation and how alot of coaches, course creators and educators get stuck and confused with content creation.
They get frustrated at themselves, doubt their ability to grow their business, believe that content isn’t for them and often get trapped overthinking, head in hands asking themselves “What content am I going to create?”
When you get focused on content from the angle of creation,
You can fool yourself into thinking that content creation isn’t for you.
That it isn’t in you
But the fact is
You are not in your CONTENT.
Content is an identity game first.
Creation second.
Let me explain.
When we try to create content from a space where we are unsure of who we are, what problems we solve, our beliefs, our thoughts, our values, our story, what we are about and what we aren’t we block our ability to create and end up relying on momentary moments of inspiration to create from.
You know the “random lightbulb moments”.
We compare ourselves to other content creators, coaches and facilitators or just other people we follow on social media and end up trying to do things like them.
We end up feeling like content creation is a nightmare as we are constantly seeking “inspiration” to create from.
But when we know ourselves, who we are and what we are about content creation become an extension of us. We don’t need to “come up with things”, we just document ourselves, our idea and our processes, our stories, our beliefs and our life and relate it to our ideal clients.
If you look at someone like Alex Hormozi, he easily makes content because his content is a reflection of who he is, and who he is attracts and repulses people out of his audience.
If you look at Dr.Demartini, he easily makes content as its a reflection of who he is, a teacher and lover of human behaviour.
And just last week we had a beautiful breakthrough in our Mindset Class.
One of our members was comparing herself to a mentor of hers. She was admiring her ability to speak complex things with clarity. When she realised that she could easily and effortless speak on creating beautiful healthy foods, looking after your health in a holistic way and health in general.
She didn’t find her way in content, she found content her way.
Identity first, creation is secondary.
Until next week,
Keep smashing growth ceilings,
